5 Tips For Your First Day As a Podcaster

So, you’ve decided to enter the world of podcasting. I saw a press report last week that 1 in 10 people would consider launching a podcast in 2022, which is an amazing, and terrifying, statistic. The reality is that not that many podcasts are good and a much smaller number actually get listened to. When you start your podcasting journey, you want to put yourself in the best possible position to make something that’s i) good, and ii) listened to. There are countless articles and videos (and podcasts!) out there that will tell you which microphones to buy, which editing software to download, how to write a script and how to approach guests. They’ll tell you how to market the show and how to build an audience.

This short blog isn’t going to do that. This short blog is about psychologically conditioning yourself for your first day as a podcaster. So here, without further ado, are 5 quick tips to put you in the right frame of mind for setting sail on your new podcasting journey…

1.) Listen to podcasts, and listen to radio. There’s an idea that you can’t be a good writer if you’re not first a good reader, and the same is true of podcasts. Be an invested and generous listener.
